Originally from Stockholm, but now residing in the UK, singer-songwriter Rebecka Reinhard delivers an absolute gem in this gorgeously subversive and bittersweet indie-rock offering. Its blend of dreamy shoegaze textures, killer melodies and punchy vocals hides a melancholic side, lyrically, as the track speaks about our fractured socio-political climate and current isolated situation. Released earlier this week and recorded with producer Anders Kallmark for his Camden Town-based label Crowds & Power Recordings, Whale ticks all the right boxes for alt-rock and sad playlists, as well as being ripe for sync opportunities for a TV drama series. Clash, Nothing But Hope and Passion and When The Horn Blows are all early fans but expect to see more come on board over the next week for this cool tune. | |
